Im lev 20 and have NF, Prophecies & Gwen. I have had the same yellow sword for ages - anyone know where I can get a better one ? I would love a green one. I have been playing for a year and never had a single green item drop

So you have nightfall and you didnt complete the campaign? You get a free green item at the end. Same with GWEN.

there is no such thing as a "best sword"

however, you should consider getting one with maxed values :

damage : 15-22 damage (and make sure you meet the requirement)
damage mod : +15% of +20%, depending on the type. Most popular is +15% while health is above 50%
prefix mod : this can be anything, depending on your build. Just make sure the mod is maxed out. (like 3/-1 for vampiric, or 10% chance for furious)
suffix mod : same thing, make sure it's a maxed out one, and a usefull one. Most popular here is fortitude (+30HP) cause you can never go wrong with extra health ...

no not completed nightfall yet - Im just upto the desolation quests.My existing sword is already like that rotten but its damn ugly to look at

I understand where you are coming from asking for the best sword. Unlike Diablo 1 & 2 the weapons don't make that big of difference. What you want to look for in any sword is: Appeal (do you like how it looks), Damage(15-22), Inscription(either a inscription slot or a pre-modded damage mod, ie: 15^50), Modifiers(make sure you can upgrade the sword with both prefix and suffix, depending on your needs/wants), and finally Requirement(you obviously do not need a req. 13 sword if you only have 11 into sword mastery)

When you complete Factions, Nightfall, or EoTN you will receive a voucher for a free green (unique) weapon. The sword are basically the standard. A 20/20 15^50 +30 sword (Factions gives you a vampiric sword instead)

you can find a full list of skins of swords available to you on guildwiki. Just look at them till you find something you like, and then go farm for it, or buy it ...

There are lots of good collectors swords and they are just as good as a green actually some are better for Warriors unless you get a good rare gold drop.

there are many good skins for swords, but most of them are really expensive...i get reallyed pissed at that. collosal scimitars are cheap now, and look great, but yeah check wiki for all the sword skins, especialy in GWEN if you are looking for a cheap sword which looks good go for one of the weapons which can be lesser, normal, or greater. because they all look similar, and are pretty cool looking.

There's no single best sword stats wise but if you're going for looks then Zodiacs are the ones you want imo.

yeah, but u really need nice armour for the zodiac to look it's best, and if you have cheap armour they look stupid, i used to have a set, but i didn't really use after i got tormented set. plus dying zodiac stuff is strange.

The devs must have read my thread cos a green sword dropped for me last night - WOOT ! first green item in a year.

By the way I have no idea how you guys afford that expensive gear and Killerbot's armour looks great by the way.

Seems to me that all the best stuff comes from Prophecies & Factions, rather than Nightfall.

Just need a good shield now......

Cyndr's Edge. Double adrenaline on hit 10%, +30 hp and 15/^50 mod, plus uses the Brute sword skin, about as cool as the Fellblade. Stats are same as Sskai's, and looks better. =D

Vampiric is awesome on a sword. Make sure you use it alongside [skill=text]Flail[/skill] to speed up the life-stealing and swap with a non-vampiric weapon when you're between battles.

You got a good reliable sword, it is far superior to Sundering (don't let an idiot tell you otherwise). Maybe try and get a Furious and Zealous one and you're set
